Free Mathematics Centre (FMC)

A unique mathematics education resource for the world.

How to get your copy

  1. Wherever you live, please read this one page Background: Free Mathematics Centre (PDF).
We want you to be clear about the source of FMC and what you receive.
It also lists where to purchase Poly Plug and Rotagrams.

  2. Many copies of FMC were distributed between February and December 2025.
For various reasons a few files were altered or added during this period.
The version you receive through this page is the latest and last.

  3. If your version is prior to December 8th you can replace it from this page.

Download Zipped File
Download the final version of Free Mathematics Centre from one of the Dropbox links below:
  • When the Dropbox link opens, ignore anything else on the screen and only click the word 'Download'.
  • When a log in screen opens look at the bottom of it and click the words 'Or continue with download only'. You do not need to log in.
  • Save the file (freemathematicscentre08122025.zip) to anywhere on your computer.
Your desktop might be the most convenient place.
  • Extract the files from the ZIP to anywhere in your computer.
It's best not to use the default ZIP file name as a folder name as suggested by the extraction process.
    Example:
Change the default name and path suggested by the extraction process to C Drive (C:\)
and the extraction process will create C:\freemathematicscentre\
and place all FMC files and folders within that.
You do not need to create a new folder.
Downloading and extraction times will depend on your internet speed and your computer's processing power. As a guide only, downloading the zip is likely to take less than 3 minutes and the extraction process (7,318 items) is likely to take between 10 and 20 minutes.
  • When extraction is complete find READMEFIRST.PDF in the top level of freemathematicscentre and read it to begin exploring this incredible free resource.
Choose from these Dropbox links which all provide the same files:

Please pass on the link in the URL line above through your contacts, social media accounts or professional publications.

Free Mathematics Centre is for sharing. No one owns it. Use it freely on any number of computers on home, school or system networks or through the web.

Update: 13th January 2026

Christine Lenghaus, through Maths Heroes, is world supplier of Poly Plug, a role previously played by Mathematics Centre. To support best practice use of this motivating, multipurpose, classroom friendly resource in primary and secondary schools, Christine has mounted Free Mathematics Centre on the Maths Heroes site. Go directly to the Poly Plug start page using:

or begin at the Free Mathematics Centre home page and navigate to Poly Plug, or any other part of FMC using: To order Poly Plug begin at this Maths Heroes page: Thank you Christine!

Mid-2025, Lorraine Day and Shyam Drury, University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA), Fremantle campus, were the first teacher trainers to mount their copy of Free Mathematics Centre as a browsable learning resource for their students. It is an integral part of their courses. They have just updated that site to the latest version of FMC and are pleased to support mathematics education by making FMC available to all. Thank you Lorraine & Shyam!
The one small issue with this version is that the external server being used to host it doesn't recognise special characters such as á, é, ö and so on. It substitutes a nonsense symbol, which makes 'interesting' reading when it comes to names of some people and places that appear in contributions to FMC.
