The RYDA Difference
Greetings from Rubaga Youth Development Association (RYDA) in Uganda, East Africa. RYDA is a non-government organisation founded in 1992 by Geoffrey Steven Kyeyune - the executive director and a renown social worker. RYDA has its offices in Kampala the capital city of the country.
RYDA was founded to promote the position of the poor disadvantaged people through assisting them to increase their socio-economic independence. The organisation pays special attention to the youth, women and disadvantaged rural-urban children.
RYDA's principal mission is to empower people by equipping them with information skills, and providing them with the opportunities that enhance and strengthen their potential to influence their own development.
RYDA runs programmes in Training, Social and Educational Training and Social Work. Within these programmes, health, income generation workshops and seminars, food, security, water and sanitation, among other activities, are addressed.
RYDA boasts of its novel approach towards developmental problems, where participation of the people in deciding and influencing their development is central.

These pages record some of the history and current progress of an organisation which, with the assistance of a world wide team of partners, is making a significant difference to the lives of hundreds of orphans and street children.
The future for RYDA is bright despite constant need for resources - financial, material and otherwise - to strengthen its programmes. With hope, help, and support from you, the RYDA emblem will shine brightly as RYDA struggles to make better the situation of the disadvantaged.
Our motto is:
ALL PEOPLE HAVE A POTENTIAL TO DEVELOP WITHIN AN ENABLING ENVIRONMENT.
